How to Order Cupbop: The Ultimate Step-by-Step Guide

Cupbop’s menu has named bowls, a two-protein Cupbop bowl, kids bowls, sides and ten numbered sauces, which can be confusing the first time. This guide explains how an order works, using Cupbop’s official nutrition and allergen tables and the DoorDash listing we checked on October 20, 2026.

We are an independent site, not Cupbop, so we cannot take orders. To order, use Cupbop’s ordering site or a delivery app. For prices, see our Cupbop menu page.

Stepping up to a Cupbop counter or browsing their online menu for the very first time can feel a bit overwhelming. With a massive lineup of sizzling Korean BBQ flavors, colorful bowls, and a unique numbering system for sauces, figuring out what to get isn’t always straightforward. To review all available options before visiting, check out the complete Cupbop Menu.

Whether you are standing in line at a physical store or placing a digital order through your phone, knowing how to customize your meal makes all the difference. In this guide, you will learn exactly how to order Cupbop like a seasoned pro—ensuring your bowl hits every single one of your flavor cravings without any second-guessing.

Understanding the Menu Setup Before You Order

Before you place your order, taking a quick moment to understand how Cupbop builds their meals will save you time and prevent any last-second confusion at the counter.

The Core Concept: Build Your Bowl

Cupbop operates on a simple, modular system. Every standard bowl is built using three essential layers:

  1. The Base: The foundational layer that absorbs all the savory flavors.
  2. The Protein: Your choice of freshly grilled meat or vegetarian option as the main star.
  3. The Sauce & Heat Level: A signature sauce drizzled on top, calibrated to your exact spice preference.

Knowing this three-step formula means you won’t freeze up when the cashier asks you what you want. You can mentally prepare your combination before it’s your turn.

Portion & Size Options: Regular vs. Large

Cupbop typically offers two main bowl sizes to fit different appetites:

  • Regular Size: Perfect for a standard lunch, light appetite, or if you plan on trying sides like Mandu (dumplings). It fills you up comfortably without leaving you overly stuffed.
  • Large Size: Ideal if you have a big appetite, skipped breakfast, or want extra leftovers for later. Large bowls pack a significantly higher portion of both your base and protein.

Choosing the right size comes down to how hungry you are right now and whether you want to add extra sides to your meal.

Step-by-Step Guide: How to Order Cupbop (In-Store & Counter)

Every Cupbop bowl starts with the same base: rice (230 calories), cabbage (14) and noodle (165), which is 409 calories before any protein. You then choose your protein or proteins, a numbered sauce, and any sides or drinks.

Step 1: Pick Your Bowl

On the DoorDash listing we checked, the main choices were:

  • Named bowls, each built around one protein: Rock Bop, Ugly Bop, Piggy Bop, B Bop, Kko Kko Bop, Krunch Bop, Mandoo Bop, Doochi Bop and Veggie Bop, plus Snow Bop where it is available. Noodle Bop has no protein and gets extra noodles instead.
  • Cupbop: a bowl with two proteins of your choice.
  • Mega Bop: a bowl with three proteins.
  • Kids Bop: according to Cupbop’s nutrition table, half of a standard single bowl.

A named bowl works out to a double portion of its protein, while in a two-protein bowl each protein counts once. This is our reading of Cupbop’s numbers.

Cupbop’s tables list rice, cabbage and noodle in every bowl and do not describe a choice of base. If you want only rice or only noodles, ask the store. We could not confirm a “Regular” or “Large” size.

Step 2: Choose Your Protein

Cupbop’s combo table lists ten proteins. This is how many calories one portion adds on top of the 409-calorie base:

ProteinCalories addedNamed bowl (our reading)
Veggie45Veggie Bop
Tofu62Doochi Bop
Krunch74Krunch Bop
Chicken92Kko Kko Bop
Mandoo99Mandoo Bop
Beef117B Bop
Pork142Piggy Bop
Ugly238Ugly Bop
Rock280Rock Bop
Snow308Snow Bop

For a two-protein bowl, add both numbers to 409. For example, Krunch + Veggie is 409 + 74 + 45 = 528 calories. Our Nutrition page has a calculator and a list of combos under 600 calories.

Step 3: Choose Your Sauce

Cupbop’s sauces are numbered #1 to #10, and also include #7.5. They are blends, and Cupbop does not publish a heat rating, so we describe them by their ingredients:

  • #1 to #5 contain no chili ingredients. They are blends of Bulgogi sauce with Lime Mayo or Spicy Mayo.
  • #6 and #7.5 add Korean Chili.
  • #8, #9 and #10 add both Korean Chili and Fire in the Hole, and #10 has no mayo.
  • #7 is not in Cupbop’s blend chart, so we cannot say what is in it.

If you want less chili, choose a lower number. If you are unsure, you can ask the store whether they can put the sauce on the side. For calories, sugar, sodium and allergens in each sauce, see our Sauce Guide.

Step 4: Add Sides and Drinks

Cupbop’s nutrition table lists these sides and drinks:

  • Mandoo (3 pieces): 99 calories
  • Kimchi: 30 calories. Cupbop’s allergen chart marks fish, shellfish and mustard in it.
  • K-dawg: 650 calories
  • Turtle Chips (Corn, Choco or Lime): 160 calories
  • Samanco: 210 to 220 calories
  • Milkis: 130 calories
  • Yogo Vera: 120 calories
  • Fountain drinks: 0 to 270 calories for 22 oz

For prices, see our menu page.

Step 5: Tell the Store About Allergies

If you have a food allergy, tell the staff when you order, and check both the bowl and the sauce. Cupbop’s allergen chart lists them separately, and every numbered sauce contains Bulgogi sauce, which lists soy and wheat. For which items contain each allergen, read our Allergen Guide.

Customization Hacks

  • Sauce on the Side: If you are trying a new heat level or want absolute control over how spicy your bowl gets, ask for your sauce “on the side”. This allows you to dip your bites or drizzle the sauce gradually rather than having it completely mixed in.
  • Extra Cabbage Trick: Fresh shredded cabbage adds a fantastic, crisp texture that balances out the heavy, savory proteins and rice. You can often request extra cabbage at little to no additional cost to bulk up your bowl healthily.

Rush Hour Timing

  • Beating the Lunch and Dinner Rush: Cupbop locations get exceptionally busy during standard peak hours—typically between 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM for lunch, and 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM for dinner.
  • The Best Time to Visit: If you want lightning-fast service and a short line, aim for the off-peak windows between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM, or right when they open. Alternatively, placing an order through the mobile app during peak hours lets you bypass the physical queue entirely.
